No Animals (or Teachers) Were Hurt During the Making of this Workshop. Ha!

So, the day finally came! I gave my workshops today! It went really well and no one threw rotten heads of lettuce or old shoes at me, so that was a success in and of itself!

I met some wonderful teachers, who really added to the workshop with great questions and a little humor of their own! I think if you can take even one thing new back from a workshop or presentation, one thing that gives you a little light bulb moment, it was worth it! Hopefully, I gave these wonderful folks one little tidbit they didn't know before. If not, at least they got the day off, right?

I want to thank EVERYONE who gave me advice and virtual cheerleading! Public speaking can be a scary thing, so it really helped! You guys gave some great tips! Next time will be so much easier (and organized)!

Now I'm off to dreamy town with teddy...

  3. I'm a teacher (originally from Chicago) who can totally appreciate a great presentation. Especially if there is something I can take back and immediately make use of. So great job your presentation. I'm glad it went well. :)

And I just wanted to let you know that I'm over here following your from Carol's blog.

  4. Happy for you! Did you have to resort to ice cream or was charisma enough?

  5. Roxy and Casey! Thank you! I was jumpmy at first, but then chilled out! I must say I'm addicted to these cute rat pictures!

Sarah, so nice to meet you! Carol's blog is great! Teachers seriously RULE! My favorite, was Mrs. George, from Morgan Park Academy. She was awesome!

Jonathon, I was oh so tempted to bring a cooler full of Rocky Road and Butter Brickle! ha, ha! The audience might have liked it, but then also may have thought I was a little weird!! :)

  6. Hilary--I adore the picture! How did you get the rat to hug the teddy bear??? And where do you buy a rat size teddy bear?

  7. Gosh you always have THE BEST pictures on here. Makes me want to have a pet rat. I used to know someone who had a couple of them, and he said they really were such affectionate creatures, each with their own personality. He just let them run around his room and hang out with him. A bit odd... but it fit him. lol.

So glad to hear your workshop went so well!! You'll be a pro in no time!!
