This is how I feel this week, but less hairy--well, a little less
Okay, talked to my editor and I have eight days to finish edits for THE WHITE ASSASSIN or I won't have ARC's in time for BEA. Etch it in stone, you heard it hear first, I WILL get them done! I'm determined, especially when it comes to deadlines. Anyone else have any writing deadlines they need to meet, self-imposed or otherwise? Even if I give the deadline to myself and no one else is holding me accountable, I seem to hit my goals much better. How about you?
hi miss hilary! i dont know what that BEA is but for sure you better get those arcs out on time to get one sent to LL. :) you gotta be like that nike commercial and just do it!! you could borrow my supersonic sneakers if you want and itll get done zooooom! ...hugs from lenny
I don't do deadlines. With the soul-sucking day job, parenting, and everything else it's just way too easy to miss them. I have no idea what I'm going to do if I ever get offers.
Just keep writing. Just keep writing. I want to have my latest revision done by the end of March. I agree with Cherie Reich that self-imposed deadlines aren't quite as scary and intimidating.
I wanted to finish a first draft by the end of this month. If I write twenty pages a day I'll get there. So...um...I guess I need to go. Best of luck with your deadline
Thanks everyone! I woke up at 4am this morning, so I can get some work done, before I start "real" work! Thank the stars they sell Red Bull in my building! ;)
Go, Hilary! You can do it. :)
ReplyDeleteSelf deadlines don't usually work as well as a real deadline, but I still try to keep the self ones as much as the real ones.
Go go go!!! You can DO IT!!!
ReplyDeleteWithout a deadline, I flounder.
ReplyDeleteHey, I love monkeys!!!!
