What's Up with YOU???

That's me, hiding behind the little blue bunny! I've been crazy swamped...only posting once a week these days, busy finishing Kings of Trillium, Book II of the Nightshade Chronicles, almost there! Then I have a book proposal to work on, something so super secret I've been told not to talk about! I feel all super spy! Not to mention, as we speak a new blog is cooking up with some amazing middle-grade authors which I'm so thrilled to be associated with, just think FIGHT CLUB, only without the swear words and violence! So I've a lot on my plate!

So, what's up with you?? What's keeping you busy? Are you finishing a story, starting one, or are you stuck somewhere in the middle?

  1. I'm writing a new story, querying an old one, and trying to ignore a Shiny New Idea until I finish the WiP.

    There's a lot going on!

  2. Your super secret project sounds exciting! I've got an ankle biter who keeps me on my toes and two crazy boys I can barely keep up with. Then of course, some writing, editing, and plotting worked in there. Fun times!

  3. I was in France for three weeks and took lots of notes for a new story. But since I've been home, the jet lag has affected my muse and she can't seem to get her sh*t together!! Luckily, each day finds me back more in the groove, and I anticipate many blissful writing sessions in the very near future.

Your new project sounds intriguing -- best of luck with it!

  4. Oh, Tere, those Shiny New Ideas are so hard to ignore! I know exactly how you feel!

Janet, I have a 2 year old ankle biter myself! I feel your pain! Luckily, she still naps! ;)

Nicole, three whole weeks in France?? I'm super jealous of you! I bet you had a blast! And yes, I'm so excited about my new project! The idea has been in my head for over a year, so it's about time I put pen to paper (or laptop)!

  6. Cool about the middle grade author blog. There's not enough out there about middle grade authors/book blogs. I've been trying to squeeze in writing between working and getting my daughter to camp and a busier summer than expected.

  7. I've been researching agents, sending queries, and even got one request for a full, which was very exciting, even though she passed in the end.

You do have me curious about the secret project...

  8. I'm finishing some revisions on my YA contemporary for a second round of agent submissions, hopefully next week sometime! WIP is stalled until I finish that and then I'll get back to it.

Also, Michelle Sussman and I are working on our blog, YA Flash Death Match! Tomorrow we'll have our first competition posted, between two great aspiring YA authors. It's very exciting!

Congrats on all the goodness going on! Can't wait to hear about the super secret project!

  10. The rats in Prophecies are commanding my time, now that I have just spent some in the tunnels with yours (think they are jealous! :-) ) and are giving me all new sections and discoveries about them! Who knew visiting with others would make them so vocal!! hee~hee!

  12. Adorable pic!

I can't hardly get a hold on anything. Rewrites, writing assignments, home stuff, and just a month before school starts. We have so much family stuff to do!

I'm hoping I can find myself again this fall.

Victoria, good luck with your story! Glad my rats could take you away for a bit! :)

Kerri, sending tons of good karma for your final chapters! Sounds like you and I are at the same point in our WIPs!

Janna, trust me, I know how you feel! I don't know how I get anything done with my "real" life! Oh, that's right, I never sleep!!! ;)

  14. What fun! To finish the sequel!

I'm doing all of the above. Letting a manuscript rest while I plot a new one.

    Enjoy being a spy!

  18. I love the idea of keeping something super secret and trying to stop it breaking out when it is burning a hole in my conscious! Go you, keep bottling it all up.
I'm writing two YA paranormal romances and an MG - keeping busy!
